“Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow.” ~ Anthony J. D’Angelo
Blogging can be fun, but also not so much. In this post, I am going to provide you some lessons and blogging tips I’ve learned during my journey of blogging.
I’ll be posting these sorts of blogging journeys every month or so to help you understand my journey as a lifestyle blogger.
I have been blogging for a few months so as a new lifestyle blogger, these blogging tips can help you what blogging is like if you’re thinking of becoming a blogger.
Plus, they’re simple blogging tips, they’re not that difficult to apply into your blog if you want to start one.
Let me give you a list of the things I’ll be discussing:
- Your Niche Needs To Be An Interest or A Passion You’re Willing To Write About
- Optimize Your Content Using The Appropriate Keywords & SEO
- Beware of Website Speed
1. Your Niche Needs To Be An Interest or Passion You’re Willing To Write About.
When I first built my niche website through Wealthy Affiliate, I chose bedding and home decor.
Why? I chose it because I thought it would be an interesting niche to get into. However, a few weeks later, I got tired of writing about bedding. It bored me so much! So I stopped building my bedding and home decor niche site.
Later on, I found out that I wasn’t interested in just one niche. I was interested in so many subjects that I decided to become a lifestyle blogger. Now I feel like I’m in the right place. I can write about what I want and still use the website to help and aspire my readers.
2. Optimize your Content Using The Appropriate Keywords & SEO
Almost every blogger has stated in their blog post one way or another that content is KING.
It really is KING.
Content is what gets traffic to your site. If there is no content, there’s no traffic, and no readers. That’s what a blog is all about!
To be honest, I didn’t know anything regarding content until I found Wealthy Affiliate.
Since using Wealthy Affiliate, founded by Kyle and Carson, I’ve used their course to learn how to write a content using the appropriate keywords and SEO. And much more! So I wrote an honest review about Wealthy Affiliate that I hope can help you decide whether you want to learn more about affiliate marketing.
Overall, your content needs to include the appropriate keywords so you can attract your readers and have them get to your site.
Did you know that there were different types of contents??? What I am writing right now is called the “list blog post”.
I also thought that you had to be 100% grammatically correct. That’s not true. English is not my first language so being grammatically correct all the time was difficult. But I’m still writing because I want to, and I’ll l keep doing it.
I currently use Grammarly to help me with my grammar then transfer it to Wealthy Affiliate, or WA, content builder. I like to double check my content grammar sometimes.
Anyone can be a blogger as long as they place their point across clearly for the reader to understand.
So hopefully you all can understand what I’m saying.
3. Beware of Website Speed
When one’s website has too much advertisement or too many images on their web page or site, it slows the websites speed. This can get you to lose a lot of potential customers/readers.
I experienced this when I went to a favorite lifestyle blogger of mine. When I tried to go to their homepage, my oh my! was their website slow. They had too much stuff on their websites like images and ads.
I still attempt to go to their website sometimes.
I learned this bit in Wealthy Affiliate as well. There’s a special tool inside Wealthy Affiliate that detects if your website speed is fast enough to load. Every day your website varies on its speed but you got to make sure the score is above 70 or preferably 80.
Plus, another reason your website can be slow could be due to the website theme. Some themes are not meant to hold so many images or ads. So choosing the right theme is essential to maintaining the appropriate speed of your website.
Google Speedsight is also a great tool to use when you’re trying to determine if your website is slow. Plus, they also give you suggestions on how to appropriate your website so it loads faster.
There you go!
I’ve told you 3 blogging lessons and tips I learned from about blogging: finding your niche is the first step to deciding what you’re going to blog about. Second, your content is important because it helps to get readers to your site. Lastly, your website speed is pertinent to getting more readers to your website.
Like anything, you have to learn to get somewhere. With blogging, I’m learning many things so I can be good at blogging. It’s worth it.
If you have any questions, leave it in the comments! Would love to hear from you!
