Welcome to my 30-days writing challenge. For this challenge, I’ll be writing about my hidden talent.
Let’s get started.
I don’t really think I have a hidden talent, to be honest. Every talent that I have is put on display, like at church and work.
But for the sake of this blog post, I will be listing my talents in general.
1. I sing – I love singing. Ever since I was younger and was watching R&B and Pop music videos, the artist’s voices intrigued me that I wanted to be a singer/songwriter when I grew up.
I would copy their voices and make it into mines, which was hard but managed to do some. One musical artist that I love copying voices was Whitney Houston. Really loved her singing and wished that I could sing like her.
However, God had other plans! And I’m glad He did! I now sing at my church which I love it works out just fine. I may leave a sample of my voice in the post but we’ll see.
2. I knit & crochet – Ever since I started knitting and crocheting, I have never stopped doing it. I’ve done hats and scarves, but for now, I just do blankets. My goal was to at least have 3 blankets done for the year, but I’ve been so busy that I have gotten around it.
That’s a goal I’m going to have to complete next year.
3. I draw – I doodle now, but I used to draw things I watched on television like the king of the hill, any cartoons that I thought that I could do, and things around the house. Now I just draw flowers and abstracts things when I bored.
4. Doing my own hair – One thing I had to learn was to braid my own hair and put weave.
If there is something I think I need to learn in order for me to do it on my own, without help from anyone, then I’ll learn it without stopping.
When I decided to go natural, I had to learn to braid my hair using yarn, condition my hair using the appropriate products, and the likes. It was very different for me but I enjoyed the process, even if it is tedious.
There you go!
These are my talents or rather “hidden” talents.
What is the one talent that you have? It doesn’t have to be a hidden talent. Leave it in the comments below!
Until Next Time,
