In my recent blog post, I wrote about how journaling can help you in many ways. From self-growth to just make a memory book, journaling is a great way to look back where you’ve been and where you are.
I currently use my journal for many subjects, and writing down my thoughts and feelings is one of them. Another way I use my journal is by writing down my blog plans (even though I mostly us a notebook), so then I can look back on my plans if I seem to lose my way.
Like some things in my life, I like my journal to have a little personality to it. By that I mean, using different materials and things to make my journal look unique.
Basically, I want my journal to reflect me and my personality.
So I have done some shopping and bought some things that I can use to add a little flair to my journal. So in this post, I am going to give you a list of a few materials you can personally use for yourself to decorate your journal if you like a little color and flair in your journal.
Ready? Let’s get started.
- Colorful pens
- Sticky notes
- Instax Films
1. Colorful pens – There’s something cheerful about colorful pens. They make a simple journal look a little bright and cheerful, to me anyways. I use these pens for either drawing on my journal or writing down thoughts that come in mind. If you’re like me and you like to add a bit of flair to your journal, colorful pens would do it. One particular brand I like and am still currently using is the Papermate InkJoy. Ever since they came out, I use these particular brand pens for my journal.
2. Stickers – I am not particularly a fan of stickers, but when I saw The Happy Planner Sticker Pad, I had to have them. I wrote a mini review, with images, about them if you want to check them out. I specifically found mine at Walmart, but they’re also found on their website, Amazon, and your local Michaels. They’re a bit pricey but Amazon had a good price on them.
The stickers aren’t just for journals, but for planners too, hence the brand name The Happy Planner. However, you can use these stickers for whatever suits you. It’s great for mothers, femalepreneurs, and even college students! These can also be a great present for those that love stickers in general too.
3. Sticky Notes – Sticky notes were my savior back in college. I would use and place them everywhere around my dorm room, but mostly on my desk where I studied, and occasional movies/ television shows. Sticky notes come in all different colors so you can label each color sticky notes based on the theme that you wish to have in your journal.
They’re great for reminders, mini thoughts, and even short poems. Overall, I believe journals are like our life. We need to make it the way we want it. Don’t you think?
4. Instax Films – I love my Instax films. You can place them anywhere around your home, your work, and even your car. I particularly use my films in my bedroom. Instax films are not just for decor but they can also be a helping hand to your poetry or your thoughts.
Here is an example of mine just a few days ago. I also used the happy planner sticker to bring about my thoughts so that I can write something by the film.
There you go! Do you decorate your journal with something else other what I’ve mentioned above? Let me know in the comments below!
Until Next Time,
