College is around the corner, and it’s time to go shopping! I loved shopping for my college supplies when I attended college years ago (I feel so oldish). Now that I am out of college, it still feels a bit exciting when I see college dorm room supplies at the store. It just brings good memories.
So for this post, I wanted to provide you with some essential dorm room supplies I used back in the day, along with other supplies I wished I brought with me. And…they’re all under $150!
Isn’t that cheap?
I am thinking of writing a blog post on how to buy dorm room supplies on a budget. I think that’ll be helpful for those that are looking to budget their money so they won’t have to spend much. Let me know int he comments below if you’re interested in one! But I may just do it, so be on the lookout for one!
Without further due, let’s get started.
So all of these items I will be showing you are on Amazon, my one favorite online store that I go shopping for almost everything! Except for groceries, clothes, shoes, and jewelry. Other than that, this is the place where I buy things most of the time.
Did you also know that if you sign up for Amazon Prime, as a student (you only need your student ID), you buy your items and receive them the next day?
I wish I known this a long time ago! But now I can tell you so you can buy all your essential dorm room supplies in just one click.
So let me show you first the items I used in college. Then, I’ll also be showing you the essential dorm room items I recommend that you buy for your college purposes.
1. Essential Dorm Room Supply #1: A Shower Caddy
I am a germaphobe, especially when it comes to the bathroom. I’m glad I didn’t have to use a public shower stall but even just sharing a bathroom with someone still made it feel a bit dirty.
(I loved my roommate by the way, so this is not towards her. I just don’t like bathroom germs. Shoot, I don’t even walk barefoot in my bathroom!)
So buying this shower caddy helped me get ready for the day in a jiffy. I placed just about everything in my shower caddy: my nail clipper, shampoo, conditioner, exfoliating gloves, body soap, shower caps, and lotion. I recommended this item for those that don’t like putting their items just about anywhere int he bathroom, especially if you’re sharing a bathroom with someone else.
I do recommend that you add this item to you essential dorm room list.
2. Essential Dorm Room Supply #2: Bedding Set
Well, that’s a duh moment, isn’t it? Of course, you need a bedding set! How would you sleep? I would preferably get cute and comfortable bedding set that’s good to look at. It just gives you a reason to go back to your dorm room.
3. Essential Dorm Room Supplies #3: Shower Sandal Slipper
As I said, I am a germaphobe. I don’t like walking in my bathroom barefoot, or any bathroom that is. So I bought these specific shoes that were geared toward the bathroom I shared with my roommate. I was glad I did.
4. Essential Dorm Room Supplies #4: A Blender
I particularly bought this blender during my junior year of college, but I wish I have gotten it my freshman year of college. I used to make smoothies every so morning when I didn’t have the time to cook breakfast. I bought my essential fruits and vegetables every week and prepped them by washing and cutting them up and placing them in Ziploc bags. This way, all I have to do is grab the bag from the freezer, place it in my blender, along with a liquid (like milk or water), blend it, and then I am set!
