All of us have several New Year resolutions that we promise ourselves to keep (and some of us don’t, unfortunately, which I am also a culprit). But, what about the stuff we must let go of? What about our characters and attitude that stopped us from fulfilling these resolutions? To start new, you must let go of the old. That’s what I’m going to do. I hope you do too.
So before the end of 2018 comes, I wanted to write down the top 3 things that I am sure I’m going to let go in 2018. These 3 things prevented me from doing a lot of things this year. Now I refuse to let them cross to the new year.
No sir! No, ma’am!
So without further due, let’s get started.
- Letting Go Of My Imperfection
- Letting Go Of My Impatience
- Letting Go Of My Past
- Letting Go Of Sleeping Late Night… For No Apparent Reason
1. Letting Go Of My Perfection
As an introvert, and I am not trying to represent all, just me, I am always in my head. Most of the time, I think about the things that I want to happen and make it into my own perfect setting, moment, and the likes. As you may well know, things do not follow the way we desire them to. I’ve been that person that’s always wanted things to go a certain way, but when they don’t, it hurts.
However, now that I am in my 20s, I’m letting go of my desire for perfection. I ‘m letting go of things I can’t control (since I am not really controlling it int the first place!). One thing that I will keep doing is keep working hard and smart, and always being positive and confident that things will turn out good, even if it doesn’t turn out my way.
2. Letting Go Of My Impatience
This is mostly going to be about my blogging business and the things that surround it. We truly live at a time and age where things are at the tip of our fingers, so we expect things to happen right then and there!
Building a business is NEVER going to be like that. If growing a business was at the tip of our fingers quick, I think we would all be rich. Now, I am not saying that you couldn’t make money in a month, but if you want a business to that you can grow over time, it’s going to take some time to do that.
Now I am not a business guru, but all I am saying is that all these people that build these foundations for us, like Bill Gates and Oprah, they worked on strengthening their brand and look where it got them!
Wow, I went on a tangent…
Anyways, all I am saying is that building a business will take time, and that is what I need to accept. However, I won’t affirm to the phrase ‘I give up’. All I need is a goal, a plan, and the desire to succeed. Then I’m all set.
3. Letting Go Of My Past
This is something that I have been praying about (not lately but need to strongly). Though this year was filled with laughter, it was also filled with pain. For me, there are things that one can’t forget. Still, I need to let go of it. I need to look forward. I refuse for the past to dictate my future. Otherwise, my life will be lived in complete sorrow.
“To truly create genuine happiness, you need to let go of the past.”
So, therefore, I choose to love, happiness, joy, prosperity, laughter, and fun.
“Let laughter become your friend once in a while.”
4. Letting Go Of Sleeping Late Night… For No Apparent Reason
This is something I really need to work on. I find myself sleeping so late (Can I blame Netflix rather than myself?) that I wake up late and miss certain things I could’ve done in the morning.
I will never be an early morning person. However, it is essential for me, now, to wake up early so I can write some blog posts for the upcoming weeks. That way, I can get errands done during the day.
So, sleeping later than late is something I should not do so anymore.
Some other things I am letting go in 2018:
- Spending Habits.
- Lack Of Plannning
- Fear of Failure
There you go!
What are some things that you are letting go of this in 2018? Let’s chat!
Until Next Time,
