I know I’ve addressed productivity on several of my blog posts. Why? Because I consider the matter important. Plus, I’m going through this as well. We find ourselves going through the routine of life that it shifts us to be busy, stressful, and even frustrated. Well in this blog post, I am going to give you simple things you can do to be more productive so you can go through your day proactive, focused, and refreshed.
Let’s get started.
- Tackle The Difficult Stuff In The Morning
- Make Improvements
- Determine The Time Of Day You’re Most Active
- Create A Daily Routine
- Make It Work For You
- Take Breaks
- Eat Better
1. Tackle The Difficult Stuff In The Morning
I’ve heard a lot of people saying this, and it’s true and not true at the same time. Why? Because the hard stuff is the most difficult things to do. It seems hard, tiring, and tedious. One thing you can do to make the task easier is listening to music, something that would make you move, especially if the task you need to tackle is at home.
If the task is not at home, then imagine how it would make you feel when you actually get the task done in that morning. Would getting this done make you happy? You can even reward yourself when you get the task done, and I mean ALL THE WAY DONE. Whatever duty you set out yourself to get done, remember why you’re doing it.
Getting things done in the morning gives you more time to do what you want in the afternoon. So this way, you won’t have to think about the responsibility in mind later in the day since you’ve already done the task.
For example, I am not a morning person, but I get things done better in the morning than in the afternoon or evening. It seems as if I am more active writing my blog post that I am in the evening when I just want to chill, hang out or watch Netflix.
2. Make Improvements
If you want to be more productive in life than you need to make improvements. Forgetting an appointment or a birthday? Buy yourself a planner. Want to eat less outside of your home and cook more? Buy yourself a bundle of Tupperware and make meals for the week by cooking doing the weekend. This way, you’re more relaxed in the weekday and can chill. I do this on a weekly basis, and it has helped me greatly.
Here are the top effective devices I have used for years that have helped me be more productive that you can also use for your lifestyle:
- Meal Prep containers. These specific item I found on Amazon are what I actually use on a daily basis.
- This Simple Planner from PlanAhead. I use this special planner for daily use. If you want a more productive planner based on your lifestyle, check out DailyGreatness. They have great planners that are designed for specific lifestyles like mothers, femalepreneurs, and the like. Check them out!
- A simple Closet organizer. This is so functional in many ways. This particular item has helped me get my clothes together for my Monday to Friday job.
Are you always late because you do ponder what to wear for work? Plan your outfits the night before, or even the week before! I personally use a holder that I use to place my clothes so it could be easy for me to get my clothes without the struggles of what to wear during the day.
Are you always tired in the morning? Limit your technology use and sleep early. That way, when you wake up, you won’t seem drowsy or waking up on the wrong side of the bed. Getting adequate sleep and limiting your technology use is an important aspect of boosting your wellness. Make the right choice and start doing right by you.
Making small improvements can lead to greater changes in your life and help you become more productive in life.
3. Determine The Time Of Day You’re Most Active
If you’re not a morning person, nor are you a person that doesn’t like accomplishing tasks in the morning, then find a time that suits you. And make sure that time is spent wisely and timely. You don’t want to be doing that particular task, and then you’re distracted by either your phone or something else. Being productive is getting things done efficiently and without distraction (sometimes) unless it’s music that’s moving you to complete it.
4. Create A Daily Routine
One thing that some of us fail to do is create a daily routine that we can stick with so that our task could be done timely. Like the previous section, if you’re productive during the afternoon time, then create a routine that would be easier for you to go through during the day. Having a routine is really important, depending on your lifestyle. Here are some reasons why:
- It helps reduce stress and anxiety
- You get better sleep
- You’ll be mentally stable
- There will be less procrastination if you’re determined
- It’s structured
- Inspire good habits
As you can see, building a routine, even a subtle one where you can change from time to time is important because you can get things done around your routine. I do not stay in one routine for long, so I change my routine from time to time, making it serve me and my lifestyle.
5. Make It Work For You
If you simply want to be more productive in life, you got to make that choice. Whatever life you have (or want), make the choice to take proactive actions and then continue to be productive with it. It’s all about knowing what you want in life and how you’re going go about it.
6. Take Breaks
Being productive doesn’t mean to always be busy. Being productive mean getting things done so you can have more time to relax! The exact opposite of being busy! But if you do find yourself working too hard (or too much), taking breaks will be much-needed. Being productive also means taking the time to relax. If you want to be on your phone for a bit (with strong discipline) then take that time. If you want to go to the other room and sit and breathe, do that too. Journaling can also be a great way to take a break. During those breaks, you can write about what productive style or habitual routine worked for you so you can later make changes to your productive lifestyle. It’s all about what works for you.
7. Eat Better
Last, but not least, is eating healthier. To simply be productive in life you need to eat well. Food is one of the main sources to help us keep doing the work we do every day. If we don’t eat adequately, our bodies and efforts will reveal itself in our work. Adding in some vegetables like spinach or eating fruits like oranges or blueberries can certainly help you on work better, giving you more energy, focus, and boost memory. Even if you’re not a breakfast person, eating fruit, yogurt, or drinking water is a great way to give you that morning boost.
There you go!
